This means his opponent on November 6th will be 3 term Democratic incumbent Matt Cartwright.
Recently John and his wife Maria, purchased property in the 8th District of Pennsylvania although he had previously been living in New Jersey prior to the primary election in May.

Chrin Statement on Cartwright Voting No on Bill to Make Middle Class Tax Cuts Permanent
(Scranton, PA) – Today, John Chrin released the following statement on the news Rep. Matt Cartwright voted against the Protecting Family and Small Business Tax Cuts Act of 2018 which would make the Middle-class tax cuts of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act permanent.
“Matt Cartwright just doesn’t get it. He continues to vote against the interests of his Northeastern Pennsylvania constituents. His priority should be to make the Middle-class tax cuts permanent, so the hardworking families of the 8th district can continue to keep more of their hard-earned money.” said Chrin.

Matt Cartwright breaking promise on additional debates
Despite agreeing weeks ago to additional debates in the 8th Congressional District, liberal-progressive Matt Cartwright appears to be breaking his promise to debate Republican nominee John Chin in each of the counties in the 8th District, depriving voters the chance to compare their candidates on a number of specific issues.

Chrin Statement on Cartwright Not Accepting Two Proposals for Additional Debates
(Scranton, PA) – Today, John Chrin released the following statement on the news Rep. Matt Cartwright has not agreed to two separate debate proposals offered.
Cartwright’s campaign has been approached by two separate organizations with two separate proposals for debates: the Pike and Wayne joint Chambers of Commerce and the American Democracy Project at East Stroudsburg University, who would hold the event at Northampton Community College, Monroe campus. Both proposals, John immediately agreed to when offered. Cartwright’s campaign appears to be dragging their feet to run out the clock.

Chrin advocates economic plan
Republican congressional candidate John Chrin envisions developing Lackawanna County into a center for research on battery storage of electricity, a focus that he thinks could transform the region’s economy.
Citing the development of the massive Invenergy natural-gas powered electricity plant in Jessup, Chrin said a focus on battery storage and developing an electrical grid resistant to cyber threats and terrorism could attract new manufacturing.

Chrin outlines differences with Cartwright
PLAINS TWP. — John Chrin says four main issues divide him and U.S. Rep. Matt Cartwright, his opponent for the 8th Congressional District seat in the November election.
Chrin, a 55-year-old Republican who lives in Barrett Twp., Monroe County, stopped at the Cafe in Plains Twp. on Tuesday for a lunchtime meet-and-greet with local supporters.
Chrin said he and Cartwright, a Democrat from Moosic, do not agree on economic development; “job-stifling” regulation; health care; and sanctuary cities.

Chrin brings his congressional campaign to Luzerne County
WILKES-BARRE — John Chrin brought his congressional campaign to Luzerne County on Tuesday, stopping at four locations to, as he says, “put his finger on the pulse of voters.”
Chrin stopped in Hazle Township to tour Atlantic Carbon Coal’s strip mining operation and then stopped at Immanuel Christian School, 725 N. Locust St., Hazleton.
Before heading to Pulverman Manufacturing in Dallas, Chrin visited Two Jacks Cycle & Powersports, 338 Coal St., Wilkes-Barre.
