John Chrin Statement on Release of Q2 GDP Numbers

(Scranton, PA) –John Chrin, the Republican nominee to represent Pennsylvania’s 8th congressional district, issued the following statement on today’s strong GDP numbers:

“Today’s  Second quarter GDP numbers are a further indication of the strong economic gains fueled by the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. This is tremendous news for workers and our economy. The tax cuts coupled with the needed cuts to red tape are clearly working.” said Chrin.

“Liberals like my opponent, Matthew Cartwright, who voted against the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act simply don't get it. I understand the importance of keeping taxes low and cutting regulations so that small business owners and workers across the country have the needed tools to continue positive growth and job creation. My opponent voted against the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and supports its repeal. Hardworking families all across Northeastern Pennsylvania are benefiting from these tax cuts and cannot afford Matthew Cartwright’s tax hikes. When I talk to local small businesses, they know the dire economic consequences of hiking taxes on employers. The bottom line is that tax hikes are a first class ticket to recession and layoffs.”

John is a 10th generation Pennsylvanian, an outsider, and successful business leader with over twenty years of experience in the financial services sector. He has created thousands of jobs over his career and will use this vast experience for the benefit of Northeast Pennsylvania.
