SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) - GOP 8th Congressional Candidate John Chrin will be joined on the campaign trail Tuesday by Eric Trump.

Lackawanna County Republican Party officials say President Donald Trump's second son will make several stops Tuesday, October 23rd in the county - including a rally in Scranton Tuesday during the noon hour.

Chrin is challenging incumbent Democrat Representative Matt Cartwright in the newly re-formed 8th District, a move prompted by the redistricting of the state's congressional districts earlier this year.

In a statement released by the county party, trump "Knows the importance of this district to his father, President Donald Trump's election victory in 2016."

The statement concludes "John is running to support President Trump's America First agenda upon election to Congress."

Trump and Chrin will make joint appearances in Hawley and then Scranton.
